Behold! The master list of questions lol. I’m sorry this took so long to answer! I kept rewriting it a lot lol

Thank you @jack-toons these were very insightful questions about them and I had so much fun answering them all!

I meant to share the names of Cha’l and Fleur’s special someone’s in a shipping post but I can’t help it lol

For everyone who doesn’t know Cha’l’s girlfriend is named Shiyoon and Fleur’s boyfriend is named Razer. Both belong to @jack-toons / @myfanartblogplusshippingtrash and you can see what they look like!

1. What do they smell like?

Cha’l smells like fresh pines and sometimes like a bakery lol

Fleur smells like freesia flowers!

2. What is their voice like?

Azra’s speaks with an Irish accent and her tone and mannerisms are similar to Konata Izumi from “Lucky Star”

3. What is their biggest motivator?

Fleur’s biggest motivator is her desire to see things she has never seen before so she can tell exciting stories to her friends and family.

4. What is their most embarrassing memory?

Fleur’s most embarrassing memory was when Cha’l caught her learning to read and write. She spent a lot of her child and early teenling years avoiding it and when Cha’l snuck up behind her practicing, she threw a pillow at him on embarrassed reflexes.

5. How do they deal/react to pain?

Cha’l reacts to physical pain in two ways; for a injury received in battle no matter how deep, he would brush it off. For anything dislocated or broken he would scream.

Cha’l reacts to emotional pain by sulking for a while, not eating and staying quiet. If it was something truly horrible, he would hold it in his mind for a while until he is able to truly get over it.

9. Describe the way they sleep?

When Cha’l is sleeping alone he tends to sleep like a log and on his side a lot. He also sleeps shirtless. When he’s sleeping with his girlfriend Shiyoon, he likes to cuddle in his sleep.

11. What do they feel the most insecure about?

Cha’l: his singing ability, he’s the only one with a meh voice. What others think of him. If he’s being to paranoid.

Fleur: when she was a childling she was insecure about her skin since it drew so much attention to her (she’s outgrown it though) Failure. Asking for large quantities of food

12. How do they like to dress?

Fleur likes to dress up a lot in pants and shorts. If she can run in it she will wear it. She wears dresses and skirts on days where she wants to relax and on special occasions like going on special dates and visiting family. Most of her voice tops are form fitting with a modest v-neck.

13. How do they react to feelings of guilt?

When Fleur feels guilty about making someone close to her sad/upset she becomes slightly anxious and overthinks if she should have done something differently. If they’re nearby she would quietly sit beside them and apologize in a very gentle tone. If she had wronged someone, she might feel too ashamed to look at them for a while.

14. How do they react/deal with betrayal?

Cha’l gets angry and will raise his voice, not screaming just projecting his voice, and ask them why they thought it was better to betray him.

Fleur get very angry and will slap the Gelfling who betrayed her trust, then walk away before she really hurts someone. The last time she had been betrayed she gave the Gelf responsible a piece of her mind. She may not be a sailor, but she sure does have a sailor’s mouth when she’s angry.

Azra will start plotting her next curse. NO ONE BETRAYS HER and gets away with it.

Kiel will smile in their face as his mind starts to think of how he can exact his revenge. He’ll make whoever betrayed him feel like they’re off the hook before he counterattacks.

15. What is their greatest achievement?

Cha’l’s greatest achievement is surprising his girlfriend with the biggest most well planned out surprise. He’s really proud for having kept the secret for so long and not looking for advice from anyone who would spill the beans!

Azra’s greatest achievement was when she successfully cursed a Gelfling with uncontrollable vomiting for 3 days because they disrespected her Grandparents

16. What are they like when they’ve had too little sleep?

Cha’l is a zombie as he aimlessly does his tasks and reacting very slowly to jokes.

Fleur gets grouchy and light headed. Feed her if you want to live!

17. What are they like when they get drunk?

Azra rarely drinks but when she does she becomes a “philosophical” drunk lol

18. What kind of music do they enjoy?

Azra enjoys listening to the sounds of terrified screams of terror because of her doing. Her actual favorite music is anything with a flute with crashing waves in the background.

20. Fears?

Cha’l fears losing those he loves without saying goodbye. He’s also afraid of Rakkida and tales of the Hunter. He also has a thing about black beady eyes, they creep him out. The beady black eyes of the Moog and Swoothu look into his soul and he can’t get past it fully.

Fleur’s biggest fear is dying alone; dying on a solo adventure or bounty. She’s also terrified of water that goes above her waist; something grabbed at her in the Black River and it scared her of deep water ever since.

Azra’s biggest fear is crowded places. It’s one of the reasons she prefers to not travel on big Sifan ships. She begins to hyperventilate because if something terrible were to happen and a stampede occurred, she would easily get crushed to death. She’s also afraid of Pluff’M, her grandmother had one when she was little and it nipped her finger; Pluff’M don’t have sharp teeth but getting bit by it really turned her off from them. Only one Gelfling knows that fear and it’s her best friend, Shiyoon.

29. Are they a morning person?

Fleur is definitely a morning person! Most of her bounty hunts require her to wake up early, especially when she’s sleeping in the wild. The only time she isn’t a morning person is if she’s partied it up too much and has a hangover lol.

32. Pet peeves?

Cha’l- loud chewing, not getting a word in during a conversation, and open mouth chewing

Fleur- Not saying thank you, burping, getting cut off in telling a story and needing to repeat herself more than twice.

37. When was the last time they cried?

Cha’l’s last cry was when he was watching the fireworks with Shiyoon. (I headcanon fireworks or some form of fireworks exist in Thra lol)

Fleur’s last cry was when she came back from a mission to find a missing Gelfling. Sadly, on the way back they were surrounded by a pack of Rakkida and Fleur wasn’t able to protect them. It was something she beat herself up about, especially when she had tell the news to the family.

38. Were they with anyone when they cried?

Cha’l was with Shiyoon and he was telling her that he loves her for the first time. The moment was beautiful and he couldn’t contain his tears.

Fleur was with Viara and Razer when she opened up about it. It was one of the few times she allowed anyone to see her ugly cry.

47. Are they romantically interested in someone?

Azra will be adamant on her heart being too black for romance...for now

Kiel is not romantically interested in anyone at the moment but I picture someone catching his eye soon.

48. Are they dating/married to anyone?

YES! Cha’l is dating his soulmate, Shiyoon. They are OTP!

YES! Fleur is also dating her Sifa sailor, Razer. They are also OTP!

I LOVE BOTH OF THESE SHIPS! They are adorable and the way they interact with each other is just too cute!!! They will be posted on my page and it will be glorious!

61. When bored what do they do?

Cha’l- dancing, plotting his next prank/surprise, swimming, playing card games with his girlfriend, and making wood carvings.

Fleur- climbing trees, singing, if she’s with her boyfriend she enjoys teasing him, dancing, drinking and doing her and anyone she’s close to hair.

63. Do they have an accent?

Both Cha’l and Fleur have an English accent with a very faint Italian or Spanish accent. There are certain words they’ll say that makes that Italian or Spanish accent stronger because they’ve heard their father, Bhihaar, pronounce it that way.

65. If they knew they were going to die what would they do/say? (aka how sad can I make this?)

Cha’l- If it was life and death and the only way to secure the safety of others was to sacrifice himself, he would. This would be an emotional scene and right before he charges to face death (with his girlfriend of course) his final words to his companions would be something like; “See you around.” As he and Shiyoon take their lasts breathes, his final words would be of how happy and loved, Shiyoon made him feel. If it was more of a slow natural death, Cha’l would go to his favorite spot with everyone he is close to and reminisce. Afterwards he would spend alone time with Shiyoon.

Fleur- If it was a fatal wound she was dealt she would want to have her final moments to be with her loved ones underneath a tree full of flowers and give an emotional speech to everyone present. If her boyfriend, Razer, is there she would give him a final tender kiss and say how much she loves him as apologize for all the things they couldn’t do, she’d definitely call him by one of the nicknames she gave him. Before her body goes limp, Fleur would give Razer one of her hair accessories and say he can return it when Thra reunites them. If it was a slow death by infection, she would try to do everything she had wanted to do and can still do. She’d be even more affectionate than she already is because knowing she’ll be passing soon would make the hugs and kisses all the more bittersweet.

Azra- If it was an untimely death during the Garthim Wars, Azra would make a snarky comment about the Garthim and the Skeksis, probably trying to recite a curse on them as well. She’d be sure to say her piece with her friends, especially her best friend, Shiyoon. Although she knows she’s dying, she would have a smile on her face because she knows she’s be reunited with her parents. If it was an ongoing internal issue, she would spend the day prior spending time with those she loves, she wouldn’t tell anyone about her death because she doesn’t want their last memory of her to be her still face. She would send a Swoothu to send them a message about her passing.

Kiel- If it was a death in the result of the Garthim War, Kiel would probably try playing the hero to help protect everyone, as a way of presenting himself as not just the silly prankster but as someone who stood up for what was right. He would be the most serious he’s ever been, talking about a lot of sentimental things about those around him. Right before he takes his last breath, he tells one last joke, his best joke. If it was a death caused by an ongoing health problem, Kiel would admit to all the wrong doings he’d done in the past to all of his crewmates and close friends. He would try to keep his energetic nature up and perhaps do one last prank on his rival.

66. How do they feel about sex?

Cha’l enjoys sex and only engages in it with his serious relationships. Promiscuous sex want never his cup of tea but he doesn’t go around condemning anyone who does have promiscuous sex. He views sex as a sacred activity that strengthens the physical and spiritual bond because he loves the deep connection. He and his girlfriend, Shiyoon want to have childlings one day (not too soon though) and he’s excited for trial and error.

Fleur shares a similar view as Cha’l. To many Gelfling she seems like someone who’s had lots of sex but, she has been saving herself for Mr. Right or someone she wouldn’t mind saying; “I’m glad my first was with him”, whichever came first at the time. She frequents a lot of Taverns and many guys she meets just want a fun night. When she does start having sex, she really enjoys it for the pleasure, the closeness and vulnerability she and her boyfriend, Razer share.

Azra has had sex but she doesn’t go around looking to bed someone. She doesn’t see the big deal about it but only takes part in it if her partner is a sexual Gelfling and they’ve been going steady for a while.

Kiel enjoys having sex and in the beginning it was a way for him to feel grown up, as many Gelfling in his teenling years saw him as too childlike; mostly because of his actions. When he became an adult his view and reasoning changed, it’s an activity he indulges in from time to time. When he finds a partner he enjoys everything about it.

67. What is their sexuality?

Azra is panromantic asexual.

Kiel is bisexual.

68. Do they become squeamish at the sight of blood?

Yes! Kiel gets terrified because as a childling he had gotten into an accident that ended up cutting his leg pretty bad. The blood spilling out along with his panicking really scared him. It didn’t help that his father made a joke about all the blood lol

69. Is there anything they find really gross?

Azra- jokingly public displays of affection or anything super sweet.

Kiel- Eyeballs!

70. Which Tv Trope(s) best describe them?

Cha’l- supreme chef, moderately masculine, big brother instinct

Fleur- action girl, tsundere, hard drinking party girl

Azra- goth girls know magic, creepy loner girl, preppy goth

Kiel- the trickster, troll, bishōnen

72. Are they allergic to anything?

Cha’l- honey and dust.

Fleur- really bad pickup lines.

Azra- pollen.

74. Are they quick to anger? What are they like when they’re angry?

Cha’l is quick to anger if someone is messing around with his loved ones. His voice is harsher and he wouldn’t be afraid to take part in a fight.

Fleur has a bit of a temper and it’s usually related to Gelfling being prejudice. She’ll be sure to have them repeat something offensive they said to her face and if she’s fired up she’ll yell or out of reflexes punch them. Aside from that she’s pretty mellow.

81. Do they try to hide their emotions? Are they good at it?

Cha’l is not good at hiding his emotions. Whatever he’s feeling can be read on his face easily. He gets teased a lot by Kiel and Shiyoon about it. He doesn’t try hiding his emotions unless he’s in public and feels like he’ll turn beet red.

Fleur- after her previous heartbreaks Fleur chose to hide and push down any romantic feelings she could get to protect her heart. She was pretty good at it but when she was alone she would cry at times. When she does start to feel warm and fuzzy, it comes off VERY tsundere (without the excessive hitting) in the beginning. If something is bothering her, Fleur will keep it to herself, she’s gotten good at hiding certain things unless someone persists her long enough.

84. What are some physical features that they find attractive on people?

Fleur- tattoos, a charming smile, striking eyes (it’s not eye color but more of a look; if they pierce through her soul the better), abs, and defined arms (they don’t need to be gigantic, just toned enough to see some muscle. It’s *chef’s kiss* perfect lol)

Azra- Dreadlocks/locs, freckles, tough hands, green eyes and scars (especially on the face)

Kiel- dark hair paired with light eyes, muscles, tall, facial hair, long silky hair, and doe eyes.

85. What personalities do they find attractive?

Cha’l- fearless, adventurous, optimistic, carefree, and imaginative

Fleur- confident, persistent, adventurous, mysterious, charming and *cough cough* bad boy/rebellious *cough cough*

93. What things anger them?

Cha’l- selfishness, disrespectful Gelfling, Gelfling who talk bad/dirty/ill of his siblings or girlfriend (he’s a very overprotective brother and if anyone talks bad about his girlfriend, Shiyoon...hold him back!)

Fleur- liars, cheats, rude/prejudice Gelfling , selfishness, (not particularly angers her but, when her loved ones doubt themselves too much)

95. What makes them sad/depressed?

Cha’l: untimely death, feeling of not being good enough, and not belonging

Fleur: heartbreak, getting into arguments, feeling like she will never leave her mark and being forgotten.

Azra: illness (she lost her parents and the thought of losing her grandparents depresses her) and winter (that’s the season she lost her parents)

Kiel: death, being seen as a burden, and being misunderstood

98. Something they regret?

Cha’l: never having a conversation with the family of his first love on why mixed-clan Gelfling were a bad thing. This is just something he wanted to get closure on but never did.

Fleur: giving her first kiss to a Castle Guard who viewed her as a side piece. The sentiment of sharing her very first kiss is gone. She regrets the whole thing because her brother warned her but she was too stubborn to listen. Although she regrets it she does see the silver lining; she became a much better kisser after it.

99. Biggest accomplishment?

Azra: being able to get two gigantic centipede-esque insects to love her like furry pets!

Kiel: being able to successfully cheat at a game of cards against his Captain. The reward he won was worth the anxiety of not getting caught.

Craigory was having a GRAND old time following his curiosity on various spells and alchemy alone in the woods. No superiors to tell him “no that’s a bad idea” or “no don’t do that”.

what is something they love about themself?

Bilgerat: it’s taken a long time for Bilgerat to like anything about himself. Any confidence/ease he projects is mostly performed. But… he likes his singing voice. He likes messing with his design to make people laugh/freak realkind out. He’s got a long way to go on LIKING himself maybe, but he’s arrived at a slightly spiteful self respect, and that’s step one.

Craigory: …vain, he’s vain, oh my god. I was struggling here, thank you for helping me fully realize this about him. Who needs a functional charisma stat and ability to talk good when he’s got a face like THIS?

what do they dream about, when their dreams are their own?

Craigory: empty homes. He searches for anyone at all- thinks he maybe hears a front door closing but he can’t find it, much less find whoever closed it. He seems to be going in circles- or maybe he’s been forgetting where he’s already been.

which of the five senses do they rely the most on?

Abbigull: well she’s got a bum eye, her hearing ain’t what it used to be, so sense of touch is the winner. Just standing on the Squabble, she can feel how it’s moving underneath her

Bilgerat: sense of smell, without a doubt. His hearings also sharp- those swiveling ears. But the nose is where it’s at.

do they follow their head, their heart, or their body?

Head. Craigory follows logic, to the point he overthinks and paralyzes himself in a panic. Many thoughts, head full. In those times he’s gotta fall back on the body- gut instinct.

what stories do they like to tell? what stories do they like to hear?

Bilgerat is that really animated campfire storyteller who’s doing the motions and voices and is absolutely trying to scare you with a ghost story. He likes stories he hasn’t heard yet- far away places, new information.

who would they kill? who would they kill for?

Craigory’ll kill anyone stupid enough to mess seriously with his family. It’d have to be a lot, but- yeah. There’s a tipping point.

who would they save? who would they be saved by?

anyone who he knows would save him in turn. Craigory’s loyalty is reciprocal and dedicated

Abbigull: entertains the kids by making elaborate origami structures

Finding out that someone was in trouble and she could have helped if she’d KNOWN. Frosty, you KNOW Abby’s gonna be crying. Hell, she learns anything about Bilgerat she’ll be crying too. She’s more the type to GET MAD in the moment and go after the culprit with all the wrath of hells fury, but after the fact? Calming down some? Tears.

what is their favorite thing to hold?

ALL OF EM would love to hold your hand! Sorta. Abbigull, absolutely. Craigory, he won’t initiate, but if YOU reach out to hold his hand? Oh, 100%, he’ll hold that hand for days. Bilgerat, it’s gotta be someone he knows and likes. No touchy from strangers or acquaintances. He might even reach out first!

are their hands calloused, soft, or something else entirely?

Bilgerat: calloused! Them’s working hands. They’ve also got BEANS. Little rough bean pads.

when they meet someone, what is the first thing they notice?

Craigory: Height, especially not having really SEEN anyone for a solid 2 years there. He’s tall compared to the Toon average- he minds that if you’re smaller than him, but he definitely notices if you’re taller. It’s just more unusual.

what is the most beautiful thing in the world, for them?

Craigory: A library full of books he’s never read. The sounds of loved ones coming home.

whose hand do they reach out for?

Bilgerat: Bisig. Messo & Gray are great but they’re kids.

what is a quiet passion of theirs?

…I don’t think you can call STORM CHASING a quiet passion. I truly don’t think Abby’s even done anything “quietly” in her life. But, Abbigull loves a good storm. Erasure for her so often manifests itself as passive and gradual slow- fog, water lapping, tides changing a landscape over centuries- it’s fun to also dive into the sudden, violent variation. Nevermind that she lost her foot in storms exactly like this- Abbigull’s not one to shy away from what’s hurt her before. You gotta get back on the horse, as they say!

who makes them feel warm?

Craigory: Being cared about and for, paid attention to.

what was the best moment of their life?

Bilgerat: The night he broke into the captains quarters, took the pay he was not being given and a little extra for good luck, wriggled out the porthole, and swam away. Hit shore for the first time and left SS. Barker behind, finding new ships and better people

nia’s 30 days of witchaversary (days 1-17)

um, oops?

i meant to do this sooner, i swear, but i’ve been very busy with work and other real life stuff this month

i actually wasn’t intending to do this at all, but since my initial plans to celebrate WITCH have kind of fallen off, i may as well jump on the bandwagon! i hope i’m not too late 😅

day 1: favorite guardian

orube! i absolutely adore this girl. she’s such a great character--appearing to be a hardened warrior but in reality is the biggest softie...while also kicking a lot of ass. i love her interactions with the guardians, i love the depth she has, and while i could gush about cedrube all day, they deserve its own space.

honorable mentions go to....well, the rest of w.i.t.c.h., will and taranee in particular. i relate to both of them a lot (mostly with being pretty shy and socially awkward)

day 2-favorite villain

(will smith poses) THIS GUY. i know everyone and their mother loves phobos, but i am not Everyone And Their Mother. i honestly think phobos is kind of lame

cedric on the other hand, is a different story. this guy’s a CHAD. he was the one Actually Doing Stuff in the first arc. HE was the one pulling weight during phobos’ scheme in the fourth arc, AND ludmoore’s in the fifth.

also he’s just a great villain in general; a consistent threat through and through, powerful as heck (unlike his tv counterpart who got his tail whooped by everyone) and do i even NEED to bring up him and orube? (i’m gonna get to them, i promise)

day 3- favorite love interests

i honestly think all the WITCH bois are good but if i could pick a favorite....

peter! he’s just so good. a sweetheart, a looker, a great big brother.....he’s perfect. (like tadashi, ‘cept he doesn’t die)

look at him and corny being goofy. love is real and it’s in the picture above me.

day 4: favorite pairing/ship

aww man this is a long time comin’ so let’s get it DONE

cedrube. always cedrube. forever cedrube.

these two are just....so good. a twosome on opposite sides, brought together by their shared experience of being Fish Out of Water. orube brought out the best in cedric (his semi-redemption, anybody?) and cedric allowed orube to experienced something she longed for.

if only their ending was as happy as they are in this picture...

day 5-favorite friendship

picking all of w.i.t.c.h. would be too predictable, so i choose...

these two! i love how irma and hay lin are Those Two Gals, joking around when the others are being serious. these two are perfect together, and i love the scenes when they’re messing around.

day 6: favorite cover/promo/pin up art

the cover for issue 56!

ugh i love this. it’s gorgeous; the movement’s fluid, the expressions are on point, and it’s a tribute/celebration of the tv series! (particularly with the girls curled up in element colored balls; a reference to the toon transformation)

day 7: favorite issue

had to go with the one that started it all, issue 1. this series has been with me for a long time, and i remember being so captivated with the first issue. i may sing the praises of precure, but w.i.t.c.h. was actually my very first magical girl series, and this issue was my very first experience with the genre. i will always hold it close to me.

day 8-favorite special

the orube special! orube sadly isn’t a character that gets much play outside of her role as w.i.t.c.h’s ally/honorary guardian, but this issue gives us just that! we get to see her get a job, make friends, and learn a little more about how to be an earthling.

day 9-favorite guardian uniform

i’ll pick taranee’s!

it looks the most....practical to me. like, if i was a guardian, i’d wear something like this. also i ADORE the fact that tara keeps her glasses in guardian form. any other show would have them get magicked away, but not here. as a Black Girl With Glasses, it’s a detail i really appreciate.

day 10-favorite world/planet

um. kandrakar, i guess?

day 11-something awesome

speaking of tara....

this moment from issue 4. another moment i remember vividly from my childhood, and one of the first scenes that shows us that taranee is not to be messed with. don’t play with fire INDEED.

day 12-something that made me cry

i have yet to cry when reading this comic, but a moment that really made me sad was when will’s dormouse died

this really hurt, not just because it came after the hope spot of will’s dad going away, as well as nerissa’s defeat, but because ol’ dormouse had been a staple of the series to this point, and it was clear that he formed a bond with will. just a really cruel moment to end the second arc on. (but not in a bad way, of course)

day 13-something heartwarming

the last page of issue 20!

issue 20 is a bit of a roller coaster for poor will; she’s slowly being manipulated by nerissa, to the point where she shuts herself off from the girls. on the side, we have yan lin beginning to worry about history repeating itself with the current guardians.

but then this happens, a moment that shows us that WITCH will not suffer the same fate as the team that came before them.

will just spent the scenes before this pushing away from her teammates, even attacking them; for them to say that they trust her irrevocably says a LOT about their faith in will, and the friendship of WITCH itself.

day 14-something that irked me

everything about the arkhanta arc that doesn’t involve orube or the astral drops!

(reader beware, it’s about to get personal Up In Here. mentions of ableism to follow.)

we may as well start with the backstory of ari, because his relationship with his son and how it’s handled is going to be the epicenter of everything i’m discussing.

‘yeah once upon a time there was a happy farmer who had a kid, but oh no he’s nonverbal and can’t communicate! happy farmer is sad now” (also he may have told kandrakar to Fix It but Oracle Said No)

see the problem here? it’s okay if you don’t, because i’m here to explain!

basically the villain of this arc is an Autism Dad who thinks his son needs to be Fixed. he constantly angsts about the fact that his son doesn’t talk, smile, or say I Love You....basic whiny Autism Parent stuff.

except we’re supposed to sympathize with him. we’re supposed to see him as a poor innocent man instead of, you know, someone who may be unintentionally hurtful with his woe-is-me-isms (also will insisting that he’s in the right...)

and as if that’s not irksome enough....

maqi gets cured in the end. he’s speaking, he’s emoting, he’s not The Broken Kid anymore!

yeah, uh, no. i have autism, and have exhibited some of maqi’s traits on a regular basis. (and it’s not just me, my little sister imani was nonverbal for a lot of her childhood. we didn’t even think she was going to be able to talk.) and as someone who’s felt like i was a Broken Kid, that some thing was wrong with me, and has wondered Why Can’t She Just Be Normal....this ending does NOT fly with me, and neither does ari as a character.

ari’s not a Sympathetic Sad Dad, he’s an ableist douchecanoe. there’s a REASON i compared him to autism moms. maqi’s “problem” isn’t that he’s sick or anything (the comic even SAYS he’s perfectly healthy!!) he just isn’t emotive or talkative....and for the comic to paint as something that has to be fixed is more than a little gross. i know the comic wasn’t intending to offend with this, but that’s exactly what it did.

thank goodness for orube and the astral drops, or this would’ve been my least favorite arc.

day 15-something that needs a quick fix

um. i got nothing for this one.

day 16-something that needs an overhaul

the arkhanta arc. either cut out the ‘must cure my son of his autistic-coded traits’ or create a new conflict all together. (like the whole maqi thing could’ve been fixed with simply giving him and illness or putting him into a coma!)

and like everyone else, i’d like a overhaul of new power and beyond.

day 17-something that needs to be resisted

sweet mother of monkey milk, the astral drops. i wanna see how they’re doing. i wanna see what their lives are. do they remember anything, even secretly?

also visit orube while we’re at it, see how she’s doing post 5th arc.

I saw a mutual fill out an oc ask meme, and I thought it’d be neat to do it with Knox. I’d do it with all of em, but these are a whole lot of hard questions, man, I’m not doing that.

1. What is one word to shut them up?

Any curse word, really. He has no patience for dealing with vulgar language. ALso maybe calling him unintelligent or stupid? But he may just actually try and prove he’s smart idf he’s actually knowledgeable about something.

2. What is the thing they feel the most guilty about?

There’s some people he used to keep in contact with but fell out of touch over the years. It wasn’t untill long after they passed that he found out they were gone. He’s guilty he stopped trying to keep in contact with them, especially one woman, who ended up creating Owen, actually.

3. What is the worst pain they’ve ever experienced?

When the man who desined him, James, died.

4. Describe their worst nightmare.

Working his hardest towards a goal, sacrificing everything for it, only for something to happen and ruin all possibility of him ever achieving that goal.

5. List 3 fears; one “surface level” fear, one “repressed” fear, and one “deep dark” fear.

On the surface he’s afraid of swimming and the ocean, which stems from a subconscious fear of drowning. He’s also afraid of his closest friends dying suddenly, and experiencing the same pain as when James died, but he tries very hard not to think about this.

6. What is something that never fails to make them feel sick?

hmm I haven't thought much about this. I’ll have to come back to ya.

7. What feature (physical or otherwise) do they hate most about themselves?

Oh god, he hates that strand of hair on his head. but because of toon logic, whenever he tries to cut it it just grows back almost instantly. He’s also annoyed that he sounds exactly like mark iplieer, after kaylee points it out to him. It’s not that he doesn’t like the voice, it’s that mark has some pretty... colorful language in his videos, and doesn’t want to be associated to that.

8. Do they have anything that triggers them?

Strong language makes him pretty mad.

9. What is their greatest physical weakness?

He doesn’t have a lot of physical strength. he probably can barely lift a big thing of dog food on his own. He’s also a lot less loose and flexible than a toon from the rubberhose era typically is. He’s kinda stiff and subtle in his movements, which is mainly just how he is as a person, and he’s not incapable of being that way, but it doesn’t come naturally to him.

10. What is their greatest mental weakness?

Probably his intrusive thoughts. He’s also a lot less “wacky and zany” in personality than a toon from the rubberhose era usually is, and has a hard time grasping that mentality. Some people would probably consider that a weakness in him.

11. Do they have any vices?

He’s a bit of an alcoholic, and has suicidal thoughts.

12. Have they ever done something illegal? What was it?

Uhm aside from maybe downloading music illegally, i doubt it.

13. Which of the 7 Deadly Sins best describes them?

I’d say pride. He’s very proud of his accomplishments, and the things he knows and his talents. He’s not extremely narcissistic, but to some people he may seem that way.

14. Are they prone to outbursts (of violence, extreme emotion… exc… )?

I don't think so. He’s pretty even tempered, and would really only snap at you if he cares about you.

15. Who do they hate the most?

People who are very disrespectful of others.

16. Is there anyone who makes them feel inferior?

People who are more knowledgeable about a topic than he is, and people who are more talented than him.

17. What sound always gives them a headache?

...sounds can give people headaches? I didn’t know this, and I’d have to think about this.

18. Is there a certain flavor that disgusts them?

Uhm I’m not sure. He doesn’t like spicy food, but he doesn’t really think it’s disgusting, though. Maybe super bitter stuff?

19. Do they consider themselves ugly?

Nan, he probably thinks he’s pretty handsome, actually. He might not brag about it, but he definitely likes the way he looks, aside from his one hair.

20. Do they consider themselves unloveable?

This one’s kinda tricky. He’s probably gotten love letters from women before when he was younger and more well-known, but he’s unsure about how attractive he’d be to a guy. He’s very uncertain about that, and he’s only recently started worrying about it because he’s only just now started accepting his own sexuality. He’s probably afraid that he is, but is hopeful that he’s not.

21. What is something that causes them great anxiety?

Being around pools and beaches, and really important meetings or auditions.

22. Do they have any mental illnesses?

He has undiagnosed depression, which he thinks is just laziness.

23. Have they ever been assaulted/abused/raped?

Fortunately no.

24. Do they fear the possibility of being assaulted/abused/raped?

I don’t think so. Maybe at one point, but definitely not now.

25. Have they ever been betrayed by someone they thought they could trust?

Maybe by Kay, kinda? He never exactly trusted her, and she didn’t betray him so much as ruin his one chance at a major acting gig. Other than that, i haven't thought of anything specifically.

26. Have they ever been seriously injured?

No, But it’s mainly because he’s a toon. They can handle a lot more physically than an human can, so if he was a human, some of the stunts he’s had to pull would have definitely killed him.

27. How many times have they been in the hospital?

Probably not many. Again, toons heal surprisingly fast and efficiently on their own, and Knox doesn’t do a whole lot of stunts that would cause enough damage to him to send him to the hospital. (he’s not much of a stunt guy at all lol.)

28. Is there a certain type of person that disgusts them?

29. Does what they cannot see scare them?

I’m not sure exactly what this means? are ya asking if he’s afraid of the future? Kinda? he’s afraid of some things that are inevitable (like his friends dying in the future) and he’s nervous about not getting callbacks or anything, but no more than what people would normally be?

30. Have they ever been bullied?

Not until recently with Kay picking on him.

31. Do they have self-confidence or self-image issues?

mmm no not really.

32. Do they have a bad relationship with their parents?

he don’t have parents. He had a good relationship with a lot of people that worked at the studio he was made in, though, as well as the mad that designed him.

33. Have they ever been in a relationship that didn’t work out so well?

He tends not to hang around people he doesn’t like, unless he has to for his job. As for romantic relationships, I don’t think he ever really tried to date much. Maybe very early on in his life he tried to date a girl or two, and if he did it definitely didn’t work out, but probably in a “we should see other people” kind of way, and nothing especially negative.

34. Have they ever self harmed?

No, But he’s thought about it. Mainly when he’s cutting vegetables or something.

35. If they could change one thing about themselves, what would it be?

I think he’s pretty content with who he is as a person. He probably wishes he could age. Other than that,.. maybe he’d like a college education, or at least a GED? He never had any need to get a formal education, and most people don’t ask if he ever did, so he can get away with it, but he likes learning things.

36. Are they in control of their emotions, or are their emotions in control of them?

I’d say he’s pretty good at controlling how he acts when he’s feeling certain emotions.

37. Have they ever had their freedom taken away?

I don’t think so.

38. Have they ever been imprisoned?

No.

39. Have they ever been accused of something they didn’t do?

Not really? Kay does think he’s a pretty stuck up and snobby guy before she really gets to know him, but other than that, no.

40. Do they often blame themselves for other people’s problems?

Nah. What other people do is thier own business, not his. He may or may not be concerned depending on whether he knows the person or not, and what they got themselves into.

41. Do they get sick often?

Ha ya know what. I’d say yeah, kinda. Not like, all the time, but he probably gets sick a few times a year, like during flu season.

42. Are they comfortable with where they are in life?

He’s comfortable in the sense that he’s probably well off enough that he can keep doing minor acting jobs if he has to, but he’s ambitious enough to want more than that.

43. Do they wish that they could change their pasts?

He probably has a few things that he thinks about how they could have played out differently, but if you actually gave him the power to change it, he might be more hesitant to actually do it. He’s read enough sci fi novels to know the consequences of time travel.

44. What’s one thing they wish they could do more often, but can’t?

Visit his friends, watch movies at the theatre, go to plays. Ice skate. A bunch of random things like that.

45. What is the emotion they most commonly experience?

... I don’t know how to describe this emotion other than that emptiness that comes with depression. I can say it starts to become less common in his life after he starts hanging out with Carter and Kaylee and even Kay and Ken, and he starts having more good days than bad.

46. Have they ever contemplated suicide?

Yes.

He’s made preparations for it, the main one being buying a gun that he keeps in his room. He has a suicide note ready and everything. But no, he has never actually tried to kill himself.

So I did the “get to know me” meme on Twitter but because of how Twitter functions now it’s a hard to follow mess of a thread. Decided to post it all here -- and hey, if any of ya’ll are curious, feel free to read.

1) When I was 10 my abusive stepdad threw a spray at me. I ducked -- it scraped my head. Sent to school bleeding b/c he was too stoned to realize it'd get noticed and I'd get pulled out of that environment immediately. This moment changed my life, left a scar on head.

If I hadn't ducked, would've hit my stomach. No cut. Whole childhood would've been different. My first Butterfly Effect Moment.

2) I started writing fiction about Pokémon. First-person, from the Mons perspective. Rotating point of view each scene.

3) I moved on to crazy crossover fanfic where I constructed an entire war, personal and political motivations, so many ideas I still like?

4) Part of this involved detailed drawings of Mario-themed Keyblades I wish I still had.

5) Paper Mario 1&2 are some of my most influential inspirations. expanded such a simple world so much so fluidly. (Harder than it looks)

6) When I was a kid my sister would wake me st like 6am to watch dubbed Sailor Moon. Bothered me they all sounded like same person.

7) I can recognize voices very well and even specific sounds and songs. Couple years back my roommate ran a test - playlist of 100 NES tracks, he'd play the first NOTE, singular, and I could recognize exactly where it was from if I'd played the game.

8) My first computer was a PC I bought w/$ saved up during an entire summer of custodial work in HS. Had no Internet.

So I'd use the public library's very slow connection to download things to floppy disk and copy them over.

Eventually, I was able to graduate to a USB. Obtaining music was hellish so I treasured each song I could download -- most from OC Remix.

9) We had this tiny rabbit ears TV that could get WB and Fox sometimes if it was set up in a specific corner of my sister's room

And so I would desperately use it to try and stay up to date on Pokémon and Digimon, it was so bad

10) Teen Titans was arguably the most influential piece of media for my teenage mind. It formed the base of so much I care about re:stories

Fleshed out, varied protags who grew together and each had their times to step up and step down. Action w/character dev context.

Fantastic themes important for growing humans; awesome moments "between the panels" instead of all comic book melodrama and action.

Then everything changed when TT GO attacked and pissed on everything smart and thoughtful because MONEYYYYY

11) Cowboy Bebop was the first "good" anime I ever saw and blew my mind open about what animated stories could do -- i.e. Not just kid stuff

I don't like "anime" in general because most of its common tropes but the shit out of me even worse than most western toon tropes

And yet like 50-75% of my most favorite shows ARE anime because thoughtful animated storytelling has so much potential.

11) I predicted months before Last of Us came out that you'd play as Ellie but when it happened I had to stop, cry happy tears.

I predicted the second I saw the Left Behind trailer what was going on w/those two and again, still had to stop and cry happy tears.

(I seem to have pretty good gaydar now but I also don't like, ship everyone together all the time)

It just hits me so hard when actual canon queerness happens in mass media and is done well, but we're still so bad at following through.

12) Favorite m/m ship: Troy and Abed in the Morning. Favorite w/w ship: Max and Chloe BFF Pirates 2008.

ATLA ships: Tokka the most, also Katang, also Smellershot. ATLA makes me more open to shipping than any other series?

Like, Zutara makes me feel kinda gross and some of the crack ships like Sokka/Azula scare me but otherwise I'm pretty chill w/ATLA ships?

13) When I was a kid, and we'd role play, I always wanted to play the girl characters. I was surrounded by boys so they always were weirded.

It was weird to me, too, honestly.

Now it makes perfect goddamn sense.

14) Apparently I was kidnapped as a baby by some mobster or something but it's hard to tell with my mom what's real or not.

15) Smash Bros. Melee was the first game I ever got genuinely hype over before launch. I still remember being startled to discover it --

-- existed via E3 trailer on GameTrailers back on my goddamn dialup connection in 2001. I had to wait all fuckin' day for that thing to load

And when it did, it was GLORIOUS (and had FZero music, which at the time I did not recognize) and I was FLOORED.

The screenshots made the game look too good to be real, and I was instantly sold on the GameCube, the first time I NEEDED new hardware Day 1

I got SSBM as an Xmas gift before my grandpa's GCN present arrived, so for a week or two all I could do was stare at the box/manual/disc

That game kind of changed my life -- SSB64 was the first time I'd gotten so invested in a multiplayer game, and SSBM crushed it.

A fire was born in me -- competition, something I'd never been much interested in w/games before, not against actual humans.

Those months between E3 2001 and finally getting to play SSBM felt like forever. And thus did I post online fiction for the first time.

That's actually how I met @SDiDuro , my first 'Internet friend' and what I'd consider to be my first proper 'reader.'

16) After college, I ended up working at a call center because it was the only job I could find and I needed to support my disabled wife.

DURING college, I gave up on writing fiction and had focused on gaming editorial through a site where I'd engaged with an online community

But that empty space between phone calls eventually got filled in by writing fiction on a notepad, with a pen, inspired by Street Fighter 4.

Eventually, this evolved and radically changed into what is now (still in dev) DownRight Fierce.

Back then, I had no idea I'd be motivated to DO this, though -- write original fiction -- but the fire had been re-lit.

I wanted to write.

I was sickened by my "naive" adolescence crossover fics and wiped them from my http://FF.net profile and started anew.

Having just come off of ATLA 1st time, I knew I wanted to explore that world/characters more, so I wrote a story about Toph & puberty.

That serving as "practice," I then went on to write SRU, and...well, that...changed EVERYTHING.

17) My biological dad (who I have never met) has OCD, to the point where he apparently washed his skin raw trying to avoid germs?

So as soon as I showed enthusiasm in gaming, my parents FREAKED and worried I was exhibiting OCD and they brought the hammer down.

They made me feel BAD for writing about video games when I wasn't playing them, but they never READ anything I fucking wrote.

Even now, my mom tries to comment on what a good writer I supposedly am, yet when I ask for her thoughts, I ask what she's read?

Silence.

I wasn't writing fiction based on games because I was THAT addicted to games.

I did it because a storyteller was awakening within me --

-- and I told stories through the worlds and characters I was familiar with.

(And my first genuinely "serious" fic was Teen Titans, anyway)

But even now, it really hurts that my parents will sometimes try to guilt me over not calling or whatever the fuck, when they never READ

never supported, and actively DISCOURAGED my writing, my storytelling, refused to understanding why I loved games.

18) I never watched Avatar until after college (years after it had finished), and I watched it because of the live action movie.

I watched halfway through the season 1 of the cartoon to get "read up" on it. Then the movie. Which was horrible. Then the rest of season 1.

At that point, the movie utterly baffled me. My wife and I proceeded to marathon the rest of the series. And it became my fav story ever.

But I ironically owe it to that terrible live action movie. ^_^;;

19) My taste in music is really weird. I couldn't tell you what my favorite genres are, and even fav musicians is hard.

Like, every year my top three fav musicians "change" because I just add more to the pile and spend the year focused on their music.

But music inspires my storytelling more than any other medium, I'd say -- in terms of me actually planning and growing ideas.

I didn't just give Nishiko and Seiko last names of my two fav game composers as tongue-in-cheek. In fact, that's not why I did it at all.

I gave them those names because I wanted some element of their very design to express how Japanese composers inspired me in my teen years.

Epic Movie (Re)Watch #119 - Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Spoilers Below

Have I Seen It Before: Yes.

Did I Like It Then: Yes.

Do I Remember It: Yes.

Did I See It In Theaters: No

Edit: At the time of writing this I did not see the film in theaters, but have recently.

Was it a movie I saw since August 22nd, 2009: Yes. #565.

Format: DVD

1) Starting this comedy/noir film off with what appears to be an animated cartoon from the 40s is a good way of establishing tone for a few reasons. First of all it tells us what kind of toons Roger and company are. The kind that star in short after short after short like Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny, as opposed to say the Care Bears (it was the 80s, so I’m going with that example) who had a TV Show and a movie. It also introduces us to Roger, Baby Herman, the idea of ACME in cartoons, and Maroon studios. Also the film’s excellence in slapstick is there from the get go.

2) But as soon as the cartoon is over, we’re in the “real” world. This film has a slight bit of edge to it that I wildly appreciate. Not like Martin Scorsese edge, but come on. This is a film starring animated characters that has swearing, murder, sexual innuendo galore, and an alcoholic main character. For example in the original version of the film (now edited out): after Baby Herman walks under the skirt of a female employee on set, his finger is extended upward and has some liquid on it. That is VERY adult but will go over the heads of children.

3) According to IMDb:

Joel Silver's cameo as the director of the Baby Herman cartoon was a prank on Disney chief Michael Eisner by Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg. Eisner and Silver hated each other from their days at Paramount Pictures in the early '80s, particularly after the difficulties involved in making 48 Hrs. (1982). Silver shaved off his beard, paid his own expenses, and kept his name out of all initial cast sheets. When Eisner was told, after the movie was complete, who was playing the director - Silver was nearly unrecognizable - he reportedly shrugged and said, "He was pretty good."

4) Bob Hoskins as Eddie Valiant.

Eddie is a wildly interesting character. He’s a former goofball who has kept his sharp tongue for wiseass remarks and being a pain in the ass, which is always appreciated by me. His conflict is incredibly interesting (more on that later) and he’s just a great character to follow around in this world.

Bob Hoskins is perfect for this role. I’ll go into detail on this later but his interactions with the cartoon characters look easy when they’re not, and Hoskins is able to balance the sourpuss aspect of Eddie’s personality with the wiseass, heartache, alcoholism, and former goofball in a complete package.

According to IMDb:

On the Special Edition DVD, Robert Zemeckis recounts that he had stated in a newspaper interview that Bill Murray was his and producer Steven Spielberg's original choice for the role of Eddie Valiant, but neither could get in contact with him in time. Bill Murray, in turn, has stated that when he read the interview he was in a public place, but he still screamed his lungs out, because he would have definitely accepted the role.

I think Hoskins can’t be replaced though.

5) This film is more of a noir film than an animated fantasy. You have your archetypes like RK Maroon begin the big money slime, Judge Doom is the shady government official, and Jessica Rabbit it the femme fatale. This is felt in every aspect of the film, from the cinematography right down to Alan Silvestri’s wonderful music.

6) Remember how I said Eddie had a great conflict?

Angelo [bar patron who Eddie flipped out on]: “What’s his problem?”

Dolores [Eddie’s sort-of-girlfriend and bar owner]: “Toon killed his brother.”

Like that is such a strange idea, a murderous toon, and it provides such great conflict for Eddie. A conflict which we see laid out before us when the camera takes the time to look at all the stuff on his and Teddy’s desk. You SEE that Eddie is in pain, and without a flashback you see the guy he used to be when his brother was around. The fun goofball who liked working Toontown and helpings toons out. To go from that to where he is now takes a lot of heartbreak.

7) I love that the password to get into the Ink & Paint Club is, “Walt sent me.”

8) Daffy and Donald Duck.

This is the first (and to date only) time cartoon characters owned by Warner Brothers and Disney have appeared in a film together. Since the film was being made by Disney, WB only allowed to have their characters show up if the major characters had the same amount of screen time as the Disney characters. That’s why Donald/Daffy and later Mickey/Bugs always share the screen together.

As a kid THIS was my favorite part of the film! The crossover aspect. Getting to see characters interact who normally don’t. AND they got the official actors at the time to voice them. Mel Blanc voices all his Looney Tunes characters, Tony Anselmo is Donald, and Wayne Allwine is Mickey Mouse. These aren’t cheap cameos, these are the genuine articles and that’s amazing!

9) There are also some appearances by non-Disney/non-WB characters, such as Betty Boop.

I think the inclusion of Betty is a nice way to pay respect to the early days of studio animation, and her original voice actress was still alive at the time so she got a chance to reprise the character.

10) Jessica Rabbit.

Before anything else, I would just like to point out that Jessica’s proportions are PURPOSEFULLY impossible. I think that this is done to play into the idea of her being a femme fatale, but more so even to critique some of the ridiculous bodies animated female characters have (but that last part may just be wishful thinking on my part). Kathleen Turner unfortunately does not get credit for her voiceover work as Jessica, which is a shame because she gives the character so much of her heart and intrigue. When she’s just the femme fatale Jessica’s a bit of a stereotype but by the end of the film she becomes truly interesting to me because she doesn’t just fill that role. There’s also a fan theory about Jessica I’m totally onboard with, but more on that later.

11) Robert Zemeckis’ films are marked for their incredible special effects, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit is no exception. Ask yourself: every time an animated character opens a door, or moves a desk, or splashes water, or bumps into a lamp, or (in the case of Jessica) pulls Eddie close to them by his tie and then lets him go, how did they do that on set? Because they had to! CGI is not a factor in this film. The animation is done by drawing over the film that was shot in the traditional fashion, but everything else had to be done practically on set. It’s so subtle and so natural that I marvel at it every time.

12) Okay, I love the theory that Jessica Rabbit is asexual. If you want to read the full post click the link above but here are the basic points of argument:

She’s in love with a rabbit because he makes her laugh.

She uses her body to get things she wants from people, but outside of that doesn’t she interest in anybody.

Her line, “I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way.”

Her line, “You don’t know how hard it is being a woman looking the way I do.”

The only thing that really contradicts the theory is that later in the movie Eddie says to Jessica that Roger is a better lover than a driver, to which she replies, “You better believe it buster.” But I can easily see that as her defending his loving husband side instead of any sexual prowess.

13) Another thing that supports the asexual Jessica theme is that instead of her doing anything sexual with Marvin Acme, she plays Patty Cake with him. Like literally, patty cake.

That is a joke I did not understand as a child.

14) I haven’t talked too much about Roger’s voice actor yet, Charles Fleischer.

During filming, Charles Fleischer delivered Roger Rabbit's lines off camera in full Roger costume including rabbit ears, yellow gloves and orange cover-alls. During breaks when he was in costume, other staff at the studios would see him and make comments about the poor caliber of the effects in the "rabbit movie".

Fleischer’s voice IS Roger in so many ways. All he can do to deliver Roger’s heart is speak, and Fleischer’s performance in this film is not to be underwritten because it is amazing. It is full with such life, such heart, and a surprising amount of honesty. It works brilliantly.

15) You have to keep your eyes open for the little innuendos in this film. For example, when Eddie meets Jessica at the crime scene he quickly peeks down at her boobs. This is the first time I’ve ever noticed that and I’ve seen this film a lot.

16) Christopher Lloyd as Judge Doom.

Director Robert Zemeckis had worked with Lloyd on their most iconic film Back to the Future (where Lloyd played Doc Brown), and now Lloyd gets to show off his villainous side. He is wonderfully and gleefully evil, showing no remorse and has a cartoon like quality which makes the bad guy work wonderfully in the role. He’s just threatening enough but also just funny enough. And Lloyd never phones it in once. It’s a fantastic performance through and through.

16.5) Can we talk about how this judge just murdered a cartoon shoe for no other reason than to show that he could and no one stopped him. Like, is the shoe technically a prop and so it doesn’t count as murder? Because that thing seems more alive than a prop!

17) So I talked about Roger’s voice actor but not much about Roger as a character yet.

Roger is a pure cartoon character, and I mean that in a sort of literal sense. He’s not tainted by greed or hatred, he is pure joy and humor. A bit of a dunce but he trusts people and WANTS to see the best in them. His entire purpose in life is to make people life and that feeds every decision he makes. It’s a wonderful cartoon counterpart to Hoskins as Eddie.

18) Hoskins’ interactions with Roger is where he shines. Because remember, Hoskins was not on set with Rogers. He was looking at an empty space which would be drawn in latter. But when you watch the film he’s never looking through the space. He’s miming it excellently, he is looking AT an animated character who isn’t even there yet. It’s amazing and the key reason he excels in the role.

19) I never caught this line before.

Roger [asking Eddie for help]: “You know there’s no justice for toons anymore.”

So toons are sort of a disenfranchised minority. That’s an interesting concept. If there’s a sequel maybe they’ll play with it.

20) According to IMDb:

When Eddie takes Roger Rabbit into the back room at the bar where Dolores works to cut apart the hand-cuffs, the lamp from ceiling is bumped and swinging. Lots of extra work was needed to make the shadows match between the actual room shots and the animation. Today, "Bump the Lamp" is a term used by many Disney employees to refer to going that extra mile on an effect just to make it a little more special, even though most audience members will never notice it.

Nothing sums up Roger more than the fact that he can only get out of those handcuffs when it’s funny. It feeds into how Roger entertains all the guys at the tavern because they’re down on their luck, even though they could turn him over to Doom for a ton of cash (but they don’t). He believes in the power of laughter.

Judge Doom [upon observing the record on the record player]: “‘The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down’. Quite a looney selection for a bunch of drunken reprobates.”

“The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down” is the theme to the Looney Tunes shorts.

23) The rest of the bar scene is filled with so many great cartoon gags. The fact that Judge Doom is able to lure Roger out by having him respond to, “Shave and a haircut,” is great. But a subtler reference is how Eddie gets Roger to drink the alcohol and loose control (thereby freeing himself from Doom). They go back and forth where Eddie wants Roger to drink the drink but Roger doesn’t want it, but when Eddie says Roger DOESN’T want the drink Roger says he wants it just to continue the conflict. Sound familiar?

24) Benny the cab is another fun original character added to the film, and he’s the same voice over actor as Roger!

25) I find this hysterical.

Benny [right before they’re going to hit a car]: “Pull the lever!”

Eddie: “Which one?”

Roger: “Which one?”

Benny: “‘WHICH ONE?’!?”

26) I am so ashamed of myself that I never caught the Back to the Future reference this film makes! Benny is driving down an alleyway and the evil weasels are driving straight towards him, and one of the weasels declares, “I’m gonna ram him!” Well in Back to the Future (also directed by Robert Zemeckis) Biff Tannen is about do the same thing to Marty McFly and says the EXACT same line as we get the EXACT same shot of his car!

I love that.

27) Me too Roger, me too.

Roger [expecting another cartoon to play in the movie theater but it’s a news reel]: “I hate the news.”

28) When we were introduced to Roger in the opening cartoon, I was trying to dissect what made him a unique cartoon character. Like Donald has his temper tantrums, Bugs Bunny is a wise guy, and Roger I’ve discovered likes to go on tangents. Like someone will tell him to do something and he’ll talk for five minutes about how well he’ll do it even when no one is around to listen. I like that.

29) The animated bullets Eddie uses in the gun given to him by Yosemite Sam are very much in the style of Chuck Jones and I can appreciate that.

30) It’s pretty fun watching for all the animated characters the filmmakers inserted into Toontown.

31) Droopy Dog is another cartoon character who shows up despite not being owned by Disney or WB. This meant he got to show up again later in an animated Roger Rabbit cartoon.

32) When Eddie is in a Toontown bathroom there’s writing on the wall that says, “For a Good Time Call Alyson ‘Wonderland’,” but then there’s no phone number. The theatrical release DID have a phone number but it was Michael Eisner’s home phone (I think) so it was edited out for the home video release.

33) What could possibly top Donald Duck & Daffy Duck dueling pianos?

I love everything about this. But it also gets to another agreement between WB & Disney: Disney did not want any of their characters doing anything to harm Eddie, so that’s why when he gets the “spare” from Mickey & Bugs (it’s a spare tire but he thought it was a parachute) it is BUGS who gives it to him!

Honestly it’d be awesome if Disney and WB could make more crossover cartoons. That would be pretty awesome.

34) File this one under jokes I didn’t get as a kid:

35) So Judge Doom’s end goal, his whole villainous plan, is to construct...a freeway? God, if it weren’t for the twist coming up that would’ve been so stupid.

36) Eddie’s comedy routine is great. It shows Bob Hoskins’ skill at slapstick and goofball and is just a joy to watch. Also we get this fun line:

Eddie: I'm through with taking falls / And bouncing off the walls / Without that gun, I'd have some fun / I'd kick you in the...

[bottle falls on his head]

Roger: Nose!

Head Weasel: Nose? That don't rhyme with "walls."

Eddie: No, but this does. [kicks Head Weasel in the balls, propelling him into a vat of Dip]

37) Doom is a toon!

This is a nice twist in the film that you can totally see was setup if you’re looking for it. Christopher Lloyd is able to play Doom with an even bigger sense of cartoony evil, and it means his end goal of a freeway isn’t so stupid after all.

38) The train that hits the dip machine at the end has a bunch of window. If you go through it frame by frame, each window depicts someone being murdered. Fun fun fun.

39) According to IMDb:

The opening track on the Sting album "...Nothing Like the Sun", the song "The Lazarus Heart" was originally written as the movie's musical finale, at an early stage of the movie's production when the book's tragic ending, where Roger is killed in the crossfire during the final duel, was still in the script. When the studio ordered its default ending to be used at the film's end, in which Roger is alive at the end of the duel, however, the song was deleted from the script and ended up on Sting's album instead.

40) I like that the film ends not only with the classic, “That’s All Folks,” but also Tinkerbell to let us know this was special.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit is awesome. It’s fun, funny, gives us interesting characters, has effects which stand the test of time even 29 years later, and is just a wonderful ride. Hoskins’ performance and the animation are the true standouts here, but that is not to discredit any of the other amazing aspects of the film. A true joy to watch all the way through.

Well, there you go. It's weird how Season 4 more or less dominates the top 5, as do the specials as only one was not one. That wouldn't be odd if Mission Marvel and SBTY were not the odd ones out there, not mention both parts of Where's Perry together.

. I think I just got “better” at this given how many 30 plus sin tallies for 11 minute eps we got in Season 4. I've always done these in about the same way but whatever, I've given up trying to make sense of how these turn out. So there you go, all the sin tallies. Have fun with all this data. At some point I may post stuff reeated to this, looking at my top 20 to see how many sins my faves tend to get (for one, the 3 highest counts go to my top 3 of Season 4). Maybe someday.

We're still not quite done yet though. Tune in soon (hopefully over the weekend or so) for something very special, as a very fitting way to really end this. See you them.

22 Steps to Using Auctioneer Correctly

There’s a lot of information to sort through when bidding, buying, or posting items on the auction house. In fact it’s too much for any one person to realistically accomplish on his/her own. How can you possibly keep track of literally thousands of item prices as well as predict their values at any given time? Well thankfully there’s a little piece of freeware called auctioneer. Go to google.com and search for auctioneer, then download the safest working version (not beta). Install the addon and place it in your World of warcraft/Interface/AddOns folder. Now make sure to exit wow if you have it running so that it will read the new addon into its addon options at start up. Enter your information and select the character who will use auctioneer. At the bottom of the screen is the addons button, click it and make sure that Auctioneer is set up for at least this toon. Enter the world and head to your nearest auction house. I recommend thunder bluff because you can remain mounted from mail box to auction house and they are insanely close. Also the guild bank is in the open if your character has one for easy storage.

1. Open the auction house tab. 2. Type /aadv getall. 3. When the scan completes, mouse over the hidden set of icons just under your mini-map. 4. Select the second option from the right which looks like a magnifying glass. It’s the Appraiser tab. 5. Select Vendor from search options 6. Put 50 silver as your minimum profit. 7. Using the purchase option, spam it until every item disappears from the list. These items will always net you money, regardless of whether you vendor or resell them. 8. Accept purchase for each and when you are done confirm them. 9. Select the Resale from searches options 10. Put 50 silver as your minimum profit. 11. Sort by quality of items so that white items show up first and select purchase for each item that looks like a good deal. Compare the bid/buyout price with what you think the item will sell for. Be mindful of ridiculously priced items which can trick auctioneer. You can look below the list of items to compare your currently selected item with all others currently on the auction house. 12. If you wish you can do the other quality items as well. 13. Select done. 14. Go to your mail box. 15. DO NOT PASS GO. DO NOT COLLECT 200 GOLD. Just kidding :)- 15. Empty the mail box into your bags. 16. Go to the auction house. Open the auction house tab. 17. Select Appraiser at the far bottom right of your normal auction house tab. 18. For each item, use the first horizontal bar to select the size of each stack to sell. If the item is not that susceptible to flooding you can leave the total number to sell at ALL. If the item is susceptible to flooding, such as rare twink items, then reduce the number you wish to sell at any one time. 19. Select the enable batch post check box. 20. Select the enable market pricing check box. 21. When you have finished every item, shift+control+alt click on the Batch Post button. 22. When all the auctions are finished posting you can close all tabs and you’re done!

Next time you log in simply empty your mailbox and then head over to the auction house to repeat the process. As you do this you will most likely gather far more items than you sell, so making money may take a few days but the gold will come in exponentially as your total number of auctions increases. You should aim to make half your money back the first day. By the second day you should have most if not all of it back and by the third day you should be easily making money. As you build up and get to the point where you are posting a thousand or more auctions a day you will be handling as much as five thousand gold per day on the auction house.

Ranked! Who Won the Premier League Transfer Window?

Alosh K Jose And there it is! The shortened Prem transfer window has slammed shut. Premier League clubs can longer sign players. But with the European transfer window remaining open until the end of month. outgoings are still possible for the English top-flight clubs. With the Premier League due to start tomorrow, it is time to asses who had the best transfer window. And the worst. So straight to the rankings. 20. Tottenham hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino did not get a single signing and is stuck with players he did not want. This time Daniel Levy could not pull off any last minute surprises which meant the Spurs are the only team in the league not to have made a single signing. And they are not better off with it. Spurs had nine of thier players involve in the last four of the World Cup and will invariably suffer at the start due to these late arrivals. An injury crisis is all what Mauricio Pochettino's team to undo any progress achieved during the last three years. And he is also stuck with Toby Alderweireld, Mousa Dembéle and Danny Rose, none of whom he fancies. Yes, disastrous. 19. Watford

Troy Deeney and his co-strikers were an utter failure last season. They need to step up. What the Hornets desperately needed at the start of the window started was a striker. So it is all the more puzzling why they could not sign a top striker they needed at all costs. The fact that the three senior strikers in the Watford books have only managed to score a combined tally of 11 goals itself proves the what a kind of a season is they are up against. The permanent transfer of Gerard Deulofeu from Barcelona will help the club in the wings, but much more was needed. Nothing other than a desperate struggle against relegation is to be expected from Javi Garcia's men. 18. Cardiff City

As usual Neil Warnock has trusted hungry Championship players to deliver for him. Bobby Reid will the main man of the new signings. Neil Warnock did most his business early in the window, signing four Championship players desperate to prove that they belong at the top table. Among them, Bobby Reid must start scoring goals galore if the Welsh outfit is the survive the Premier League. Kenneth Zohore was their top scorer last season. But he has scored only nine goals and it is unrealistic to expect to stay in Premier League with such a paltry attack. The deadline day saw the arrivals of midfielders Victor Camarasa and Harry Arter, but the club remains woefully short of some Premier League experience and any real firepower upfront. 17. Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield needed quality strikers but didn't get any. It will be up to Jonas Lossl to save the team again. The Terriers were the last potent attack last season, finding the net only 28 times. Despite the signing of a whopping eight players, their apathetic attack does not seem to have improved. And among those eight, three signings – Terence Kongolo, Florent Hadergjonaj and goalkeeper Jonas Lössl – were loan transfers made permanent. German World Cup winner Erik Durm's arrival will ad depth in the left-back position. It is not healthy or realistic to hope that the young forward trio of Adama Diakhaby, Ramadan Sobhi and Isaac Mbenza will fire all the goals Steve Wagner's team needs to survive. With teams around them vastly more ambitious in the transfer market, Huddersfield is due for a punishing second season in the Premier League. 16. Newcastle United

WIth Mike Ashley unwilling to back Benitez up in the transfer window, it will up to the Spanish to find training ground solutions. Rafa Benítez wanted too strengthen the attack as they missed a centre striker so badly last season. Is Salomon Rondon the answer? Questions will remain. But the Magpies have signed Kenedy, Ki Sung-yueng and Fabian Schar has been signed earlier in the window. The Japanese striker Yoshinori Muto is an exciting addition although slightly less potent in front of goal than the Toon Army wanted. The deadline day signing of Swansea centre half Federico Fernande was offset by the long term injury to Florian Lejeune. As usual Newcastle ended the window showing a large profit on player transfers with the £22 million received via the sale of unwanted Alexander Mitrovic the biggest contributor. Newcastle may look stronger than last year on paper, but make no mistake, a relegation dogfight is looming in the St. James Park. 15. Manchester United

Jose Morinho has spent his entire summer whining for transfers, but did not get what he wanted. Ed Woodward doesn't seem to be a keen listener. Because virtually everybody in the world heard Jose Mourinho's summer long whining for a centreback. The Portuguese manager did not get Harry Maguire, Jerome Boeteng or the other numerous centrebacks he wanted. Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant are the only additions to the squad at Old Trafford. It is simply not enough for a sustained title challenge. Manchester United and Ed Woodward must be doing more. 14. Burnley

One time England No. 1 Joe Hart has washed up at Turf Moor. This season was always going to be tough one for Burnley and boss Sean Dyche as they have to juggle between the domestic and European competitions. Burnley does not have a large squad and had failed to significantly bolster it in the transfer window. But Dyche has has boosted his defence with the signing of Ben Gibson from Middlesbrough for a joint-club-record £15 million fee. Gibson will now be the designated backup for the centreback pair of James Tarkowsky and Ben Mee ahead of Kevin Long. Goalkeeper Nick Pope recently underwent surgery on a dislocated shoulder and Burnley has responded by signing Manchester City outcast Joe Hart. Due to this underwhelming transfer window, Burnley will have to prioritise either the Premier League survival or the European dream. It is virtually impossible to excel at both competitions with such a threadbare squad. At least it will be intriguing to see what Championship top scorer Matej Vydra is going to do in the Premier. 13. Brighton

New signing Alireza Jahanbakhsh was a force of nature in Eredivise. But most of the recent Dutch imports have failed in England. Brighton's club record signing of Iran winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh was the headline move from the coastal club. Jahanbakhsh was the top scorer in the Dutch Eredivise last season and he should be able to ease the goal-scoring burden on the 34 year old Glenn Murray. In that sense, the signing of Florin Andone from Deportivo la Coruna shoud also help. The Romanian has scored 18 goals from 66 appearances in the last two seasons in La Liga which is tally not to be sniffed at. Midfielder Yvves Bissouma is also a talented youngster with plenty of room to grow. The signings of Bernard and Martin Montoya will help the defence. Yet there is a sense that Brighton needed a bit more investment in order to play in the Premier League for a third straight season. 12. Bournemouth

Cherries Boss Eddie Howe has always trusted his veterans. It may be their undoing this time around. Eddie Howe has won the signatures left-back Diego Rico and promising young attacker David Brooks early in transfer window. The £25 million club-record, deadline day signing of Levante's Jefferson Lerma is also good news for the club as he remains a canny operator at the middle of the park. But where Bournemouth needed to shore up was the central defence as captain Simon Francis is now 33. They needed a faster and younger centreback but could not add one into the squad. Howe is known for his loyalty to the players who got him to the Premier League, but this could backfire this season. 11. Crystal Palace

Wilfried Zaha stays. *cue relieved sighs* The headline act at Selhurst Park is not any incoming transfer, but Wilfried Zaha's stay. Because without Zaha, Crystal Palace is a toothless giant bunny. The permanent signing of Cheikhou Kouyaté will add some power and bite in the midfield while Viceente Guaita will rival longtime No. 1 Wayne Hennesey for a starting spot while Andrew Ayew will add an alternative option to Christian Benteke who was poor last season. The most intriguing addition is Max Meyer. Once hailed as the future of German football, something has gone horribly wrong in Meyer's career which is why he is in Selhurst Park and not Allianz Arena. But he is still only 22 and has a point to prove. 10. Sothampton

Danny Ings is ready to get his career back on track. The South Coast club has improved themselves in the transfer market after being caught in a desperate relegation battle last term. The final day addition of Danny Ings will give the Southampton attack more verve and purpose. Ings will be hungry to prove his critics wrong after they wrote him off on the back of an injury ravaged tenure at Anfield. Having lost Virgin van Dijk in January, a decent centreback was always a requirement at St. Mary's and so they have signed Jannik Vestergaard. Angus Gunn, the young ex-Manchester City goalkeeper is extremely talented and will fit into the Saints philosophy of buying youngsters and improving them. The signings of Mohamed Elyounoussi and Stuart Armstrong are well timed as the club aims to inject fresh blood into what was a sated squad last season. 9. Everton

Both Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina failed to spark at Camp Nou. Goodison will be a new start for the duo. Until the deadline day, Everton hadn't done enough to have a place in our top half. But let's face it, Everton won big on the deadline day. Marco Silva's team added two high quality players from Barcelona in Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes. Both have not cut their teeth well enough for the Catalan giants. But Silva is an excellent training ground coach and will surely hope to resurrect the playing careers of the duo. The other deadline day arrival, Bernard will also add some much-needed wing play for Everton. With Richarlison already in the bag, Marco Silva will be confident he would not repeat ex-manager Ronald Koeman's miserable start last season. 8. Leicester City

Man-mountain Harry Maguire will continue to anchor the Leicester back-line. At least for now. The former Premier League champions were under intense pressure from Manchester United to sell centreback Harry Maguire even in the closing minutes of the transfer window. But Leicester held their ground and are better off with that. With Wes Morgan aging and Robert Huth departing, a partner for Maguire was always the priority at King Power. In Turkish centreback Caglar Soyuncu the Foxes’ defence looks healthy have their answer. Jonny Evans, signed earlier in the summer for just £3 million brings competition at central defence. Riyad Mahrez's £60 million departure was a blow, but not an unexpected one. The arrivals of Monaco winger Rachid Ghezzal and Norwich midfielder James Maddison are aimed at replacing at least some of Mahrez's creativity. So when Claude Puel says he is happy with the quality of his squad, there is no reason not to believe him. 7. Arsenal

The Gunners fans have waited more than a decade for Patrick Viera's replacement. Lucas Torreira seems to be the man. Unai Emery has began his era as the new Gunners manager by addressing the multiple weak points of the team which crippled Arsene Wenger towards the end of his 22 year reign at the Emirates. Most importantly Arsenal have signed the forceful defensive midfielder Lucas Torreira from Torino. Himself no lightweight, the Uruguayan is the player the Arsenal midfield was crying out for the last decade. Sokratis Papastathopoulos has been a dependable cenreback for Borussia Dortmund for long and will bring his experience to the Gunners back-line. But at 30, doubts persist about the Greek's long term future at the club. Bernd Leno will rival the aging Petr Cech for the No. 1 shirt and Stefan Lichtsteiner is a proven winner. But still, there is plenty of problems at Arsenal's defence. With Laurent Koscielny set to miss the half of the season, their back-line looks less than solid. But they have succeeded in shifting a lot of dead weight. 6. Manchester City

Riyad Mahrez has ended a drawn-out transfer saga by finally moving to Man City. The defending champions only added two names to the first team squad with the Algerian genius Riyad Mahrez arriving from Leicester City and Australian World Cup star Danielle Arzani from sister club Melbourne City. The latter will go to Celtic on loan. But it is not due to the lack of transfer market savvy City did not add more players. It was simply that they already had a perfect squad. Pep Guardiola could not get his hands on Jorginho as a tastier alternative to Fernandinho at deep midfield. Oh calamity! 5. Chelsea

Kepa is now the word's most expensive goalkeeper ever. No pressure, then. Chelsea’s summer began with the stalemate between club owner Roman Abramovich which cost the London club precious time both in the transfer window and in the training ground. When Maurizio Sarri finally arrived, he promptly added his Napoli ward Jorginho to the squad. The midfielder will be tasked with implementing Sarri’s philosophy on the pitch. Thibaut Courtois's yearly saga came to end as he secured a £35 million deal to Real Madrid. His replacement Kepa Arrizabalaga was signed at at world record deal for a goalkeeper at £72 million. The former Athletic man is not perfect, but he is the future of the Spanish back line the next decade. The Blues also kept Eden Hazard in which will be the key factor that decide the season. Real Madrid's Mateo Kovacic comes in and those who regularly watched the Croatian will tell you what a dynamic midfielder he is. Overall, despite the early problems, Chelsea did what they had to in the transfer market. 4. West Ham United

New head honcho Manuel Pellegrini has revolutionized West Ham's playing staff. With the appointment of Manuel Pellegrini, the Hammers have guaranteed themselves an entertaining brand of football. And their signings are testament for the added vigour. Most of the signings West Ham made were completed early in the window and hence relieving their fans of any deadline day nail-biting. They broke their transfer record to sign Felipe Anderson from Lazio. Once coveted by the biggest of European clubs, Anderson now has a stage to show he is as good as ever. The free transfer Jack Wilshere will add a bit of style to the West Ham football. Issa Diop and Andriy Yarmolenko will add quality in defence and midfield respectively. When the opportunity to sign Lucas Pérez from Arsenal and Carlos Sánchez from Fiorentina on the deadline day, the Hammers pounced. All in all, a happy summer at the London Stadium. 3. Fulham

Once targeted by the European elite, Jean-Micheal is an absolute steal for the Cottagers. The deadline was a very busy one at Craven Cottage as they submitted offers left, right and centre. But it seems there was a method to madness at Fulham as most of the incoming players are quality signings. They have secured Timothy Fosu-Mensah from Manchester United, goalkeeper Sergio Rico from Sevilla, young attacking left-back Joe Bryan from Bristol City on the deadline day. Star striker Alexabder Mitrovic's loan deal has been made permanent too. With the earlier signings of Alfie Mawson, World Cup winner Andre Schurrle and one-time Barcelona target Jean-Michel Seri, Fulham seems to have done what was needed to comfortably survive the drop. But just don't be fooled by Luciano Vietto's Atletco Madrid background, he was an absolute dud whenever he played for Atleti manager Diego Simeone. And they have signed £27 million club record signing André-Frank Zambo Anguissa. Yes, me neither. 2. Wolves

The seemingly unlimited access to Jorge Medes' clientele had made the Wolves a formidable team under their Chinese owners. Armed with the Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes, Wolves have stunned their Prem rivals by pulling off incredible signings one by one. Thanks to Mendes, the new boys have signed Portuguese stalwarts Rui Patricio and Joao Moutinho to go with Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore. The signing of Leander Dendoncker has not gone under the radar and the Belgian is capable to dictating play from the deep. Add the fact that they already houses the superb Ruben Neves, Wolves will be the dark horses this season. 1. Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp's maverick personalty has drawn top quality players to Liverpool this summer. Without any doubt, Liverpool had a superb summer window. With the signing of Allison, the Reds finally have a top class goalkeeper. He will be huge upgrade from the hapless Lorius Karius. Naby Keita will be Liverpool's N'golo Kante but with added goal scoring ability while Fabinho brings in more options to the midfield which was not really top notch last season. Xherdan Shaqiri is another good signing which will ease the burden of the magnificent trident of Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firminho. Liverpool has addressed each of the weaknesses that plagued their team last term. They failed in signing Nabil Fekir, but it is still has been brilliant window for them. Our No. 1.
